Cultural Arts Center
Idaho Center - Intersection of Can-Ada and Franklin Roads,
off I-84, exit 38. The facility is located on 60 acres.
Indoor & outdoor multi-purpose for concerts, trade shows,
exhibitions, conferences, sporting events.
Nampa Civic Center - 311 Third Street South, (208) 465-2252.
Art, crafts, and collectible displays, mural, live theater, concerts,
amphitheater, plays, dinner theaters, recitals, dances, symphonies,
ballets, operas, Christmas festival of trees, family gatherings,
business meetings, seminars and full convention facilities. On-site
parking, tours available, office hours 9 - 5 pm, Monday through

Day Trips
Givens Hot Springs is located between Marsing and Walters
Ferry Bridge on Hwy 78, (208) 459-2000. Privately owned, hours
are noon to 10 pm, seven days a week. Swimming, camping, guest
cabins, picnic areas, group rates, pool rentals, discount passes,
swim lessons and parties. Badminton, volleyball and horseshoes
are also available.
Silver City - Road turns off Hwy 78 five miles east of
Murphy. This 23-mile unimproved road takes an hour to traverse.
Silver City is one of Idahos earliest mining towns. Pioneer
cemetery, original buildings, scenic setting in Owyhee Mountains.
Easy day trip.

Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Region 3 Office - 3101

in new facility. Adjacent to Wilson Ponds nature area, providing
excellent bird watching and nature opportunities.
For the Birds - 1510 North Happy Valley Road, near I-84,
Exit 38. Call ahead for a no-charge tour (donations accepted).
Large collection of many varieties of cranes, as well as 90 species
of birds.
Public Golf Courses
Centennial - Centennial Drive, adjacent to I-84, Exit

advance. Snack bar, pro shop, and driving range. Banquet facilities.
Purple Sage - 15192 Purple Sage Road, Caldwell, (208)
459-2223. 3-year host of the Idaho State Open Championships. 18-holes,
clubhouse, snack shop, pro shop, driving range and putting green.
Ridgecrest - 3730 Ridgecrest Drive, off I-84, exit 36
or 38, Nampa, (208) 465-7854. State-of-the art 27 hole facility
with 18-hole course and executive par 32, 9-hole course. Club
house and many driving ranges.
Public Parks and Swimming
Lakeview Park - Garrity Blvd. and 16th Avenue North. Picnic
shelters, playground, softball fields, rose garden, amphitheater,
restrooms, pool, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, archery
range, duck pond, horseshoe pits, and historic machinery display.
Lions Park - Davis Avenue and Winther Blvd. Picnic shelters,
softball and little league fields, playground, restrooms, pool,
tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, and BBQ area.
Nampa Recreation Facility - 140,000 sq. ft. facility with five swimming
pools, hydrotherapy spa, steam room, sauna, exercise rooms, gymnasiums,
racquetball courts, meeting rooms, locker rooms, child care center,
outside play court, and walking and jogging track. (208) 465-2288.
West Park - Lone Star and Midland Blvd. Picnic shelters,
playground, four-plex softball fields, baseball field, restrooms,
tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, and a jogging/fitness
path.
Rodeo/Horseracing

Annual July event; one of the worlds largest rodeos.

Last weekend in April through Labor Day weekend; thoroughbred
and quarter horse racing.
Annual Events
Caldwell Air Show (Air-A-Fair) & Boise River Festival
- Annual events in late June. Airshow at Caldwell Industrial Airport
attracts 40,000. Boise River Festival is touted as one of top
ten festivals in the Nation. 600,000 attend various activities,
including Albertsons Nightlight Parade and Idaho Statesman
River Giants Parade. Held at Ann Morrison Park and Julia Davis
Park, and off-site venues for sporting events.
Canyon County Fair - Last full week in July at the Fairgrounds
near OConner Field House in Caldwell.
Cruisin Classics Car Show - Lakeview Park, (208)
454-2981. Annual event second or third weekend in June. Free admission
Farm City Night - Lakeview Park, (208) 466-4641. Annual
event held the first Thursday in August. Barbecued chicken dinner;
farm machinery on display.
Idaho State Old Time Fiddlers Contest - Annual May event
held at Nampa Civic Center.
Kiwanis Steak Fry - Lakeview Park, (208) 466-4641. Held
the Thursday before the Snake River Stampede in July.
Lighting Day and Candle Lantern Ceremony - Friday after
Thanksgiving, downtown Nampa. Merchants Associations "Gift
to the Community." Free wagon rides, popcorn, carolers, wishing
tree, and Santa. At dark, Girl Scouts bring handmade candle lanterns
and begin the season with carols and a parade.

Handmade arts and crafts fair second Saturday in August. 150 exhibitors,
childrens art, food, all day entertainment.
Parade America - Annual May event, featuring hundreds
of entries from horse and buggies to classic cars to fire trucks

Downtown Nampa - Historical Downtown Nampa is a nine-block
core. Businesses to meet every need from accountants to window
coverings. Wealth of facaded buildings and old pedestrian walking
