CAPITOL
The Montana State Capitol offers a unique look at Montana's colorful
history with beautiful murals by some of the best western artists.
MONTANA HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM
This museum contains a re-created western museum of the 1880's,
and also houses many works of art by Montana's own, famous western
artist, Charles M. Russell.
LAST CHANCE TOUR TRAIN AND LONDON
BUS
Relax for an hour and tour the town of Helena. The train
will take you through a residential area of town to view some
historic homes of famous Montanans, the State Capitol, St. Helena
Cathedral (exact replica of a spectacular European church) Last
Chance Gulch, and more!
ORIGINAL GOVERNOR'S MANSION
This home was built in 1888 in Helena's hey-day and was purchased
by the State in 1913 to house Montana's Governors. It is
beautifully furnished to reflect the period between 1880 and the
1910's. Tours are also conducted through the newer and current
Governor's home.
LAST CHANCE GULCH
Located on what once was a stream flowing through town where
gold was discovered is an outdoor shopping mall. It is beautifully
designed with many shops and is abundant with historic buildings
and architecture.
Visitors can mine for sapphires nearby.
REEDER'S ALLEY
These picturesque red brick buildings constructed in 1882 once
housed miners and muleskinners and is the last complete block
of historic buildings in Helena. Currently, they contain
shops, galleries, craftspeople, and restaurants.
GATES OF THE MOUNTAINS
Located on the Missouri River just a few minutes north of Helena,
this is where Lewis and Clark first entered the mountains on their
historic journey. Guided boat tours are available with a
stop for a picnic or a short walk. A lucky viewer may catch
a glimpse of a Rocky Mountain Goat or a soaring Bald Eagle.
MARYSVILLE (GHOST TOWN)
Gold was discovered here in 1876. What was once a thriving
town is now a true ghost town. The empty old structures
reflect on life in yesteryear.
FRONTIER TOWN
An authentic reproduction of a western town, it contains the
largest one-piece bar in the world, country stores, chapel and
more.
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK AND
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
Helena is located an equal distance between these two magnificent
parks.
ARCHIE BRAY FOUNDATION
Potters from throughout the world come to the "Bray"
to work and study. Traditional and contemporary pottery,
ceramics, and sculpture. Gallery and tours by appointment.

Built in 1964, it houses many original furnishings. Open
Memorial Day - Labor Day, or by appointment. 200 S Park.
