FORT LEWIS MILITARY MUSEUM
Displays show the history of the Air Corps and Medical Corps.  There is also an artillery park and vehicle display.

MUSEUM OF GLASS
International Center for Contemporary Art – (253) 284-4750.   Fine arts museum dedicated to the medium of glass.  A 140 seat Hot Shop Amphitheater where visitors can watch working arts create with molten glass.

GIG HARBOR
Enjoy the shops, boutiques, restaurants and arts and crafts galleries in the fishing village just across the Narrows Bridge.

GOLFING
Meadow Park Golf Course is located only 2.4 miles from the Tacoma Shilo Inn, Exit 74th Street off I-5 (74th and Lakewood Avenue).  18-hole par 71 and nine-hole executive courses.  Proshop, restaurant, driving range.  Call for T-times, 473-3033.

MARINE PARK
With a public fishing pier and sandy beach, this is a popular site for anglers, sunbathers, joggers and family picnics.  Nearby waterfront restaurants offer fresh seafood.

MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK
A 14,410-foot monument to creations, the National Park covers nearly 40 square miles of stunning views, hiking, camping, nature trails, glaciers, rivers and forests.
Sunrise Visitor Center at the 6,400 level is the highest point accessible by car.  A natural history museum, food service and gift shop complete the facilities.
Paradise Visitors Center is a regular starting point for summit climbs, where you can also go cross-country skiing, horseback riding, hiking or fishing.

OLD TOWN HISTORIC DISTRICT
Where Tacoma put down its roots and 1864.  Shopping boutiques and fine dining in tastefully restored buildings.

POINT DEFIANCE PARK
Located on the north tip of Tacoma, this 698 acre park features:
Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium - Animals of the Pacific Rim exhibited in natural settings.
Fort Nisqually - Restored Hudson Bay trading post.
Camp Six Logging Museum - Features original bunkhouses, historic logging equipment, and a mile-long tour on the Donkey Steam Engine.
Never-Never Land - Open April through mid-October, a fairy tale land with 50 storybook characters for children of all ages.

OLYMPIA
Located 30 miles south, Washington's State Capital offers many interesting Area Attractions, including tours of Olympia Brewery and the historic capitol building.

SEATTLE
Forty minutes to the North is Washington's largest city.  Visit the Space Needle, Seattle Aquarium, Pikes Place Market and many other exciting attractions.

SHOPPING
Tacoma Mall has 145 shops and restaurants.  Broadway Plaza is located in the center of downtown and offers a collection of shops, boutiques and galleries.

TACOMA DOME
The site of frequent sporting, cultural and commercial events.  Tours are available twice daily, Monday through Friday.
