At Boulders we offer you a controlled environment in which to enjoy the thrill of rock climbing! We have 40ft walls with 30 top rope stations, an amazing lead wall and a free standing boulder! Our route-setters maintain a healthy collection of routes in a friendly range of difficulty grades. Since we opened in 2000, people of all ages have been drawn to Boulders because of the friendship, positive atmosphere, and of course the awesome climbing!
Fort Hood’s modern, bustling Visitors Center adjacent to the Main Gate, just of U.S. Hwy. 190 on Killeen’s west end, honors the memory of James Marvin Leath and the lasting impact his public service had on Soldiers, Fort Hood and our Nation.
The Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen, Texas, was built in 1970 but was completely renovated in 2005. Open to the public, we hold 25-30 annual golf tournaments and host some of the major area fundraisers.
Stonetree Golf Club is laid out over rolling terrain with a wide variety of trees and several small lakes with fountains.
Texas Thunder Speedway is a 1/4 mile semi-banked oval dirt track. Races Every Saturday Night March through September! With Six SUPER EXCITING classes of cars to entertain the entire family. Featured classes include; IMCA Modified, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, Street Stocks, Texas Twisters & Dwarf Cars. Special events include Demolition Derby, Kid's Rides, plus more events like Birthday Parties, Hail & Farewell parties, plus much, much more!
The Railroad and Heritage Museum was founded in 1973 to collect, preserve and exhibit the history of the railroads and local history of Central Texas. The original collection was housed in the 1907 Moody Gulf, Colorado &Santa Fe depot. In 1996, an ISTEA grant for renovating the Temple Santa Fe depot, which had been vacated by the railroad and was destined for demolition, was applied for and received.
Home of more than 300 Texas legends, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame was the idea of the sports editor at The Beaumont Enterprise. Thad Johnson spoke to the Texas Sportswriters Association during the 1949 Texas High School Coaches Association All Star Games in Beaumont about starting the Hall of Fame. The sports writers unanimously agreed with Johnson and in 1951 baseball great Tris Speaker was the inaugural inductee and Texas became the first state to honor its athletes with a hall of fame.
